⚽ Kick Off Santa Cruz – Family Soccer Event! ⚽ Scotts Valley Recreation and Santa Cruz County Parks are teaming up for a fun-filled weekend celebrating the excitement and global spirit of World Cup soccer! Join us Sunday, June 14 at Skypark for a soccer-inspired day full of games, booths, activities, and family fun. Start the day with our low-key, high-energy Wacky Soccer Tournament! Gather your friends, family, neighbors, adults, seniors, and youth to build a multi-generational team for a fun round-robin tournament designed for laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition. What makes it WACKY? Each mini game will feature a fun twist on traditional soccer — think giant soccer balls, silly challenges, themed play, and more! Winning is about more than the final score. Creativity, sportsmanship, team spirit, and participation in skill challenges all count toward the fun. Team Requirements: Minimum 4 players / Maximum 6 players per team Mixture of adult & youth, at least half of each team must be youth ages 8–17 Day Format: Teams will check in and receive their game schedule Each team will play (3) 15-minute round robin games — each with a twist! Players can also participate in fun, no-pressure skills contests featuring shootout, dribbling, and cone challenges. Teams will gather points throughout the day, and prizes will be awarded in a variety of fun categories — not just for the scoreboard! Yes, there will be prizes, so you’ll want to stay until the end. Themed team jerseys or outfits are highly encouraged, and extra points will be awarded for team spirit! We’ll also have interactive booths, activities, and more.
